Quality Built for Better Living
In The Know: Our Referral Program
Were you aware Homeway Homes has a referral program, one that can put money in your pocket and help someone get some nice upgrades?
After you have moved into your new Homeway Home, don’t forget to tell a friend or two or three about the experience of building with the largest home builder in downstate Illinois. Let them know how easy it was for you to realize your dream of building your own home and customizing it to fit your every need and… dare we say it… every whim.
If they then decide to build a Homeway Home of their own we will pay you $1,000 and that friend will receive $2,500 worth of designer upgrades in their home. That’s a nice deal for both of you.
What we do for you at Homeway Homes is quite an experience, one that anybody who dreams of building a home should have.

In The Know: Life Recovery Program
When disaster strikes...
Mark Twain said “If you don’t like the weather New England, just wait 15 minutes!” Seems like that certainly applies to central Illinois as well. And with the tornadic activity we had in mid-March, it seems like a good time to talk about our Life Recovery Program.
If disaster does strike and you lose your home, we might not be able to take away all of the pain, but we strive to make the process easier. Through our program, we will work with your insurance agent to ease your burden. From the initial design stage to construction, this program is designed to speed up the process of buying and building a new Homeway Home so you can get back to living your life. If you lost your home and decide to rebuild, contact us. We offer a 2% discount to clients who qualify for the Life Recovery Program by being evacuated from their home because of a total loss.
We believe that when you are the victim of disaster, you already have been through enough. Let us help you get moving in the right direction through the Homeway Homes Life Recovery Program. To learn more about this program, visit www.HomewayHomes.com/knowledge-base/programs/life-recovery
In The Know: Earth Day, April 22
Most people don’t really know a lot about Earth Day. First celebrated in 1970, Earth Day events are held in over 192 countries to show support for environmental protection. Whether you want to save the Earth, or simply save some money, Homeway Homes can help you with both.
Homeway Homes is a leader in energy efficiency, not only with the materials we use but our construction methods as well. We have developed our own Energy Strength Spray Foam System giving our homes a HERS Index rating of under 50 where the typical new home rates around 100 and existing homes around 130. Bottom line is with our homes, you use less energy which means you save more over the life of your home.
We are also the #1 builder for the ActOnEnergy program for Ameren Illinois utility company for the past 3 out of 5 years. To top it off, our Construction Facility utilizes smart construction techniques that save time and build stronger homes with less waste.

In The Know: Getting Your Home "Spring" Ready
Old Man Winter was pretty tame this year...
But now that the outside is starting to wake up from it’s long winter nap, there are a few things you should do to prevent extra work and worse yet, costly damage:
• Take a look at your shingles. Missing or damaged shingles can lead to water leaks and internal structural damage. These should be replaced as soon as possible. Flashing around vents, skylights and chimneys should be checked and repaired by a qualified roofer.
• Check and clean out your gutters. Clogged gutters can not only cause roof leaks and foundation leaks, but can also start pulling away from your house from the added weight. Clean out any debris and caulk any leaking joints to properly move the water away from your house. Replace any missing downspouts and point them several feet away from the foundation to prevent water running down the foundation wall and into your basement or crawlspace.
• Move Firewood away from your home. During the winter, having a good supply of wood for your fireplace nearby was convenient. Now, as it’s warming up and you aren’t using the wood on a regular basis, consider moving it away from the house to prevent termites from moving in.
• Check and service your AC unit. After sitting dormant for the winter, older air conditioners can have trouble starting up for the season. Have a qualified heating and cooling contractor clean and service the unit. If you haven’t changed your filter in a while, change it now and add a reminder in your calendar for every month. A clogged filter makes the unit run harder and less efficiently.
