Homeway Homes

Quality Built for Better Living

Homeway Homes Energy Saving StrategiesWith a Homeway Home you already own one of the most energy-efficient homes you can buy. That’s because every house we build is energy efficient. It starts with our Energy Strength Spray Foam Insulation that makes your house as tight as a drum to keep the outside elements outside and the clean air inside.

Also, we use only the best, most efficient brands, such as Andersen windows and top rated heating and air conditioning equipment.

But there are things you can do to lower your utility costs. These include buying energy efficient appliances. Even small kitchen appliances make a difference. Make sure to replace your furnace and air conditioner filters on a regular basis and use energy saving lightbulbs.

Finding the right appliances can help save money, as well. Remember to look for the energy efficient labels on everything from large appliances to ceiling fans to portable heaters.

Also, enjoy the fresh air! You can save money by turning your air conditioner up or off when the temperatures are such that throwing open your windows keeps your home cool. Another tip is to keep your home temperature warmer in summer and cooler in winter when nobody is home.

Homeway Homes Customizing FloorplansPrefer the kitchen peninsula to be an island? Done!

Move the garage on the other end of the house! You got it!

Want a walk-in closet in each bedroom? No problem!

You tell us what you want, we’ll make it happen. We love doing custom home designs and the options are endless. And to make it even easier, we have color-coded all of our floorplans to give you an idea, perhaps a starting point, for your custom design.

We call it Lifestyle Living. Simply put, that means each plan is designed to fit the way you live.
•If you do a lot of entertaining, we will include space that can be formal or informal, indoor or outdoor, kitchens that encourage guests to come in and sit and chat, or rooms for watching movies or TV.
•If you like to slip away for a bit to unwind and de-stress, we’ll give you spaces for that, such as a privately located master suite or a whirlpool, or perhaps a quiet porch. It also can mean features such as a mud room, so you don’t panic because the kids dragged dirt through your clean house.
•Storage is always at a premium so we include plenty of it, such as a rear foyer, a kitchen pantry or walk-in bedroom closets.
•Do you want a separate room for making music or to do arts and crafts? Perhaps you need in-law quarters? Flexible living areas are those that can be adapted to unique situations.

If you want, bring in your own floorplan. We’ll make it work.

At Homeway Homes, choosing a floorplan doesn’t lock you in. It’s just the beginning.

Homeway Homes Energy Strength LogoIf we told you we have a way of saving you 30 percent or more on your energy bill, how would you react? If you would do backflips at that news… Well, you’d better start warming up. Because it’s true.

At Homeway Homes we have developed what we believe – check that, what we know, is the strongest and more energy efficient spray foam insulation you can find anywhere. It’s called Energy Strength Spray Foam Insulation, it hardens immediately upon application into every nook and cranny of the house as it is being built. And because it is so strong, the insulation strengthens the structure of the house itself, making it better able to withstand the elements.

Energy Strength is so good we’ve made it standard in every house we build.

The best part? Energy Strength Spray Foam starts saving you money from the day you move in. It gives you two times the insulation value and two times the strength of regular wall and ceiling construction at no extra cost to you. You can’t beat that.

Contact us today to see how Homeway Homes can put this energy efficient material to work for you in your new custom home.

Homeway Homes Fall Home Maintenance Gutter CleaningCooler temperatures are just around the corner, which means it is time to start thinking about getting your home ready for fall weather.

The experts list cleaning gutters and downspouts and inspecting your roof and chimney for cracks and damage as among the top tasks for fall maintenance.

Raking leaves and disposing them is, of course, a seasonal chore but so should be removing your garden hose from spigots and draining the hose so it can be stored inside. And make sure the spigot is tightly shut.

Make sure your windows are tight and storm windows are in place and store outdoor furniture for the winter. If you have a snow blower, get it serviced.

Inside the house, don’t forget to replace the batteries on your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors when you set your clocks back. Replace your furnace filters and perhaps get the furnace inspected and serviced, if necessary.

Homeway Homes Outdoor Living

Remember drive-in theaters? Watching movies outside? It was fun, and a great tradition to bring back to your own home.

One of the hottest trends in outdoor living and entertainment this year is setting up a theater in your own backyard. Find a large screen, some nice speakers, a projector and there you go, says home expert Bob Vila. You can even find the complete sets for such a project all ready to just set up and enjoy, if you don’t mind spending a few dollars to get the experience.

Another hot trend is what people are calling “foodscaping.” Sorry, but that’s just a fancy term for gardening. Whatever you want to call it, growing your own vegetables in a space set aside in your yard is in again this year.

Also hot, or cool if you prefer, is the outdoor shower. Imagine coming home from a workout and being able to step into a refreshing shower before going in the house. You can even find kits for these at many DIY stores. As refreshing and less expensive than a pool!

Because it’s easy to find nice-looking patio furniture in all-weather material, why not turn your outdoor space into another room of your house? Bob Vila says the trend is bringing the indoors out, rather than the opposite.
