Built Strong

It is no secret, Modular homes in general are built stronger than stick built homes. A Homeway Home is built even stronger. Following is a pictorial list of the reasons why our homes are built so strong:

The image at right shows the bracing put in place to make up for the strength lost when a plumbing line has to be run through a wall. While other builders simply consider this overkill, we look at it as an integral part of what makes our homes so strong, solid and such a great value for the money.

Floors

1) Double 2x10 rim joist

2) 6x8 steel connecting plates

3) Open joist 2000 floor joist

4) Gorilla Board subfloor

5) Double bead of polyurethane glue and 2-1/2” ring shank nails to fasten subfloor to floor truss

Walls

1) Quality lumber that has been stored inside and not subject to moisture which results in less warping and shrinking

2) 16’ long sheets of sheetrock for fewer built joists and more racking strength.

3) Drywall is  fastened to studs with foam adhesive instead of nails or screws. This process is 8 times stronger and eliminates the potential of unsightly nail pops that require maintenance to repair.

4) Walls are screwed to floor system instead of nailed

5) We use metal straps to tie the exterior walls to the interior walls

6) We use 10’ sheets of OSB panels for exterior wall sheathing.

7) Energy Strength Spray Foam Insulation in walls adds twice the racking strength.
