Multi-family & Student Housing
Multi-family building is so much easier to do with modular construction than it is with conventional site construction. From banks, libraries and office buildings, to townhomes, apartment buildings, duplexes, and schools, to small commercial buildings, Homeway Homes can use their ability as a custom-modular designer to create the perfect building for your needs. Student Housing Trends
Higher education demands safe, modern & comfortable housing for its students. In recent years, U.S. universities & colleges have evolved from tower dormitory style housing to apartments, suites & townhomes, with more privacy and more amenities than ever before. The baby boomers have been a productive group, providing more for their children than they, themselves, had. Those kids are now entering college and the decisions they and their parents are making are as much dependent on living quarters and lifestyle, as the academics, tuition and location of the college. Across the nation, colleges are experiencing housing dilapidation, code compliance and life/safety issues with aging student housing and a need for properly sized and modernly outfitted living quarters, for a steady and growing enrollment.
Better Process for Student Housing
Although our name evokes houses as our core business, the Student Housing division of Homeway Homes has stepped up to the plate with a solution that state, private and even community colleges, have and will, find quite attractive. Working with colleges’ student housing directors, facility managers and those involved with the ever evolving “master plan” of the campus, Homeway Homes modules can be incorporated into site-specific, custom designed and built one, two, three, four and even five-story student housing units. These are not boring, plain, regimented styles. They are what YOU want to see on campus, and they are impressive. We can blend into the current architecture, whether historic, contemporary, regional or any situation. We are happy to work with your architect or provide contacts for architects who understand the advantages and considerations of permanent modular construction. Our own drafting team works in tangent with the architect for timely and cost-effective turning of final prints.
Greek Housing
New and modern Greek housing is both timely and affordable with Homeway commercial permanent modular. Housing committeemen with fraternities and sororities have found that the challenges of older houses, out-of-date code compliances such as fire code and egress, along with environmental issues like mold, asbestos and lead, are pushing them to seek an affordable and safe answer for their brothers and sisters. Competing for quality pledges is much more successful when they can tour modern, spacious, clean and well-thought out living quarters. GPAs are shown to be higher when house life is supportive, comfortable and inspiring, especially when the house is designed and outfitted to reflect the preferred living style of its actives.
Homeway knows what the challenges typically are, and has the experience. We are happy to meet at your fraternity or sorority to discuss your goals, your vision, your timeline, your budget and how we may be able to make this happen for you. Planning ahead using commercial modular works perfectly in-tandem with your fund-raising efforts, too. Whether you are considering a tear-down and rebuild, a brand new house, or are a college housing administrator responsible for new, Greek housing on-campus, where there has not been any, let us discuss this with you, face to face.

Modular Student Housing Advantages
Modular Student Housing Advantages
The quiet yet huge advantages with Homeway are quality, cost and time-to-completion. These are the typical barriers to advancing any student housing project, when conventional site-built housing is considered. With our tried and true partners, we offer a complete turnkey package with single-point of contact. This prevents a nightmare of multiple subcontractors, un-met deadlines, poor communication, cost overruns and failed expectations.
Public-Private Student Housing Partnerships
Homeway is interested in working with private owners of student housing, too. With the asset class of student housing being a solid investment, even in periods of recession, a public-private partnership has merit for many college campuses. Many colleges are faced with budgetary shortfalls, wherein partnering with a private group can provide a very positive solution. Those entrepreneurs willing to fill the need will find Homeway Homes their best choice, when compared to all options. The colleges then enjoy the benefit of being able to market this new housing to prospective enrollees, while re-directing limited funding to other areas of need, within the college.
